>> Two time NBA MVP Stephen Curry deciding to skip the 2016 Rio Olympics in August. In a statement released Monday, Curry saying, "It's an incredible honor to represent your country and wear USA on your chest. But, my primary basketball-related objective this summer needs to focus on my body." Curry missed four games during the Warriors' current post-season run, sidelined by a sprained right knee.
He joins Chris Paul, Anthony Davis, and Blake Griffin as all-stars who will also miss the games due to concerns about injury. Golden State has a 2-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, and is two victories away from clinching it's second consecutive NBA Championship. Though Curry's performance so far has not been top form.
Curry's absence in Rio will leave a huge hole on the USA roster for Coach Mike Krzyzewski, who will announce his 12 man roster later this month.
