nnnnn hurt you in baltimore he's been listed mayor stephanie rawlings blake making the announcement sunday two weeks after the death of twenty five year old freddie gray as the community continues efforts to ease tensions between police officers and citizens we know we have challenges in baltimore we know that there's work to be done but what you saw in these last few days with the peaceful demonstrations and people coming together to celebrate baltimore if that will either be , gray died from injuries he sustained while in police custody the latest in a string of killings of unarmed black men that have sparked anger and protests across the country , on friday prosecutors charged six officers who took great into custody with murder , after last monday's violent rioting and looting demonstrations in baltimore had been largely peaceful , and police officers on patrol uniforms rather than right here had been mingling with crowds in a possible sign of improving relations , at least a dozen people were arrested saturday night violating the ten p. m. curfew that's been in place since tuesday , but that the small fraction of the thousands of residents were marching , when i came into the city on monday night was in flames the city was burning , %HESITATION stores are being looted , a lot of terrible things but since then , i've seen incredible acts of kindness i saw neighbors helping neighbors , i've seen a community , cares about each other , and %HESITATION , maryland governor larry hogan had declared sunday a day of prayer and reconciliation for baltimore
