>> Finally getting the help she needs and on the road to recovery. Yemeni teenager Saida Ahmad Baghili has been suffering from acute malnutrition. She was bedridden and unable to eat. Now the 18 year old girl who's become the face of famine in Yemen has been receiving specialist treatment at a hospital in Sana'a.
Medical officials believe the war in Yemen is to blame for the deterioration of Baghili's condition. Her father says she weighs just 16 kilograms.>>
> We came to Sunna to do a colonoscopy for her, and she still needs nourishment. She suffers from malnutrition and she needs to continue treatment to get better, without it she won't.
>> These Reuters images of Baghili garnered worldwide attention in October. The UN warned then that much of the country was on the brink of famine. At least 10,000 people have been killed in fighting between the Saudi-led Arab coalition and the Iran-allied Houthi movement. Parts of the country have been cut off by months of fighting and are in dire humanitarian need.
Baghili is just one of the estimated 14 million people short of food in the war torn country.
