>> Massive wreckage and panic in Indonesia. A 6.5 magnitude earthquake striking the northern province of Aceh, early Wednesday morning. The death toll doubling to over 50 people from earlier reports as search and rescue race to clear rubble and reach dozens more victims they believe are still trapped. Authorities say at least 70 people are injured with gashes and broken bones.
Many of them rushed to the hospital after being dug out of debris. On Wednesday, survivors gathered outside for fear of aftershocks. At least five have hit since the first quake struck at 5:00 in the morning. Officials say a state of emergency has been declared in Aceh. This deadly tremor, a painful echo of the past.
In 2004, a massive 9.2 magnitude earthquake and tsunami struck the province, wiping out entire communities and killing 120,000 people in the province alone.
