>> For the first time in 80 years, Germany has crashed out of the World Cup in the first round. The defending champions have won the tournament four times, but suffered a stunning defeat on Wednesday by South Korea, one of the lowest ranking teams. The 2-0 loss shocking the Russian stadium and causing tears back home.
The South Korean goals finished off the Germans in stoppage time. Not only did they lose the game, but they finished bottom of their group on three points, which boots them out of the tournament. They had already suffered defeat to Mexico. South Korea is the first Asian team to beat the defending champions at the World Cup.
But it may be bittersweet, as they will not advance to the next stage. Sweden and Mexico instead lead the group making it through to the last 16.
