>> Stop zero tolerance!>> Separated migrant families have gained a new public champion, the creator of Modern Family. Steve Levitan announced Tuesday he will sever ties with his show's studio 21st Century Fox because of the company's ties to Fox News. Levitan saying he's furious over the cable news network's coverage of several issues, including Trump's zero tolerance border policy.
>> The system has been broker for many years.>> Calling out Fox News host, Laura Ingraham for referring to child detention centers as quote, essentially summer camps or boarding schools. Levitan tweeting that Fox News's 23-hour-a-day support of the NRA, conspiracy theories and Trump's lies gets harder to swallow every day as I drive onto that lot to make a show about inclusion.
He joins fellow producers Judd Apatow and Seth MacFarlane in encouraging artists to speak out against Fox, controlled by Rupert Murdoch and his sons. The Murdochs are in active negotiations to sell 21st Century Fox to Disney or Comcast, which would separate the entertainment division from the news channel. Sale or no sale, Levitan said he will terminate his deal with the studio when Modern Family ends its run, reported to be next year, and then, set up shop elsewhere.
