>> It's always a challenge trying to win a playoff game.>> Let the LeBron James sweepstakes begin again. For the third time in an eight year span, LeBron, arguably the best player of his era, will become an unrestricted free agent in the NBA according to multiple reports. He's foregoing the chance to opt in with his current team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, giving up $35.6 million.
This decision gives him the flexibility to explore the free agent market and possibly sign with a different team. Or to eventually sign back with the Cavs for less money, which could free up team cash to beef up the squad. Speculation has been rampant after a season where LeBron led the Cavs to the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year.
Only to be unceremoniously swept in four games by the Golden State Warriors. Back in 2010, LeBron decided to leave his hometown, Cavs, to join the Miami Heat, chasing the first NBA title of his career. Four years and two Championship titles later, LeBron returned to Cleveland to bring the franchise its first NBA Title ever.
Now, at age 33 and with 15 years in the league, many wonder whether LeBron is willing to tough it out, and continue to be the backbone of a hometown team that clearly needs a revamp. Or leave Cleveland again in search for more titles and acclaim elsewhere.
