>> American Cardinal, Theodore McCarrick, has been removed from public ministry over decades old sexual abuse allegations. The Archdiocese of New York made the announcement Wednesday, saying it found the allegations credible and substantiated. The incident allegedly took place almost 45 years ago in New York where McCarrick was a priest.
The alleged victim came forward through a victim's advocate program created two years by the Archdiocese of New York. The 87-year-old McCarrick retired as Archbishop of Washington, DC, in 2006. He said in a statement that he's shocked by the allegations, has no recollection of the reported abuse, and maintains his innocence.
