>> A Virginia restaurant has become embroiled in the political turmoil over the policies of US President, Donald Trump. The controversy began Friday night when Stephanie Wilkinson, the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders to leave because of her job at the White House.
Local media quoted Wilkinson as saying her employees didn't feel comfortable waiting on Sanders. The news spread when Sanders posted it on Twitter saying the owners actions say far more about her than about me. Outraged Sanders supporters promptly began posting negative reviews of the restaurant online. One said the owner's actions were unprofessional and disrespectful.
Another one called Wilkinson a hypocrite and compared the situation to that of the Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same sex couple. But others rallied to the support of the Red Hen, saying thank you for being true Patriots and true Americans. You have a right to refuse service to evil people.
And another applauded Wilkinson for having both morals and backbone. Still others stopped by the restaurant to show their support in person.>> The Red Hen, the best.>> Local media say it was closed Saturday night quoting an email sent to a customer that said the Red Hen didn't want to expose him to quote any potential unpleasantness from outside entities
