>> Three young men approached me from behind and one of them pressed a gun to my side.>> Aaron Goldstein, a candidate running for Illinois Attorney General, was robbed Thursday afternoon in Chicago's Northwest Side while he was on a campaign photo shoot. 42-year-old Goldstein and several members of his campaign were in the Albany Park neighborhood when three men in their early 20s approached them.
One of the men flashed a handgun and demanded that they turn over their camera equipment and personal items, according to police. The men ran away with the belongings. No one was hurt.>> And I still believe that, fudamentally, we are all good. We can get these kids back on the right path.
>> Goldstein became well known after beating Dick Mell in the race to be the 33rd Ward Democratic committeeman in 2016. Mell had held the seat for 40 years. Goldstein was also one of the defense attorneys for Mell's son-in-law and former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, who was convicted for corruption and sent to prison.
And although the suspects are still on the loose, Goldstein pledges to put the robbery behind him and stay in the race.
