>> Like it may be Tuesday.>> A major shakeup, Monday at USA Gymnastics in the wake of the sex abuse scandal involving its former team doctor. Three top board members resigned, including the chairman, vice chairman and treasurer. USA Gymnastics through its president said this will quote, allow us to more effectively move forward in implementing change within our organization.
The resignations come on the fifth day of testimony against Dr. Larry Nasser. During the sentencing phase of the former team doctor after he plead guilty to criminally assaulting girls under the guise of medical treatment.>> You're now a powerless man. God knows if all the innocent victims you took advantage of and the acts of betrayal you have performed.
>> His accusers also include Olympic star Simone Biles and Aly Raisman. Raisman, one of many who have blasted US Gymnastics officials for failing to protect her and other women from years of sexual abuse and calling the organization quote, rotten from the inside.>> Neither USA Gymnastics, nor the USOC have reached out to express sympathy or even offer support.
Not even to ask, how did this happen?>> Monday's resignations also come after USA Gymnastics last week, terminated its agreement with the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas where a number of top gymnasts said they were victims of Nassar's sexual abuse. The facility had been used for regular training camps.
Prosecutors have asked for a sentence of 40 to 125 years for Nassar who was also a prominent physician at a Michigan State University sports clinic. Nassar is already serving a 60-year sentence in federal prison on child pornography convictions.
