>> A new wildfire in Northern California killed one person, destroyed buildings and forced evacuations of hundreds of residents. This latest fire, dubbed the Klamathon fire, broke out Thursday and has been spreading rapidly. And it comes on top of more than three dozen wildfires that firefighters are battling in California, Colorado, and across the US West in an unusually active fire season.
Firefighting efforts across the region have been hampered by blistering temperatures, low humidity and erratic winds.>> It's fire season pretty much everyday in California these days.>> California governor Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency to help devote resources to the wildfire battle. Meanwhile in Colorado, firefighters are combating nearly a dozen wildfires.
>> It came down in a big hurry and it was total chaos.>> Including one near Aspen, where some 500 people have been ordered to evacuate.
