>> At first she wasn't friendly with us but we took our time to basically get a dialogue with her, to get a rapport with her so she would trust us. So that took a while. It also was a tactical rescue from where we were. The angles that we had to go on, it was difficult to basically stand there.
There was nothing for us to grab.>> Authorities couldn't confirm whether the climber was connected to a group of protestors who had been arrested earlier on the island. That group had unfurled an abolish ICE banner, targeting the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE has been at the center of the Trump administration's shelved policy of separating immigrant families at the US/Mexico border.
>> What did she say to you?>> She was basically up there saying about the children in Texas.>> After being taken down from the pedestal the woman was seen being escorted from the statue, which is seen around the world as a symbol of American freedom.
