>> Officials in Indiana said on Tuesday that 59 year old John Miller would be formally charged on Thursday for the 1988 murder of eight year old April Tinsley. Miller was arrested at his home Sunday after DNA evidence and genealogical records helped investigators track him down. Similar to the methods used by police in California to track down and arrest the Golden State killer earlier this year.

Tinsley was reported missing on April 1, 1988. Her body was found three days later. Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards thanked investigators for their tireless efforts.>> This case has haunted this community for 30 years, and I believe you have given us some closure.>> The preliminary charges include murder, child molestation, and confinement of someone under the age of 14.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Ron Galavez expressed relief at solving the crime.>> I know somewhere up there there's a little girl dancing with her angels. She's celebrating. So when you get on your knees tonight and you talk to her in your dreams and prayers, tell her they did it.
