president barack obama is heading to prison , he arrives at the el reno federal correctional institution in oklahoma thursday becoming the first sitting president to visit a federal penitentiary , the move part of a week long white house push for criminal justice reforms , the president on monday commuted sentences for forty six prisoners serving time for non violent drug crimes , speaking to the n. double a. c. p. the next day he decried long term sentences for small time offenses you have to be held accountable , and make amends , but you don't know twenty years the oklahoma prison is a medium security facility the president will meet with inmates convicted of non violent crimes , he will also be interviewed by vice news for a documentary on the criminal justice system
