nearly three hundred and seventy united airlines flights were grounded and thousands of passengers stranded when a technical glitch hit wednesday morning the second time the airline has been kept out of the air this year reuters reporter jeffrey dustin is following the story a little more more over a month ago i've united had %HESITATION similar ground stop due to automation issues whereas this was due to on flight connectivity issues on which the airline so we don't i don't know exactly what the flight coming , uh clear that united has had a number of technical problems in recent , i know we travelers took to social media sites to complain sharing pictures of long lines at airports and passengers stuck in their seats on the runway the airline offered frustrated customers travel waivers on its website to make amends , total cost of dealing with today's snag is yet to be determined it's possible that are , you know investors will take this as a cue that you know they are %HESITATION our number of challenges that airlines face %HESITATION with regards technical issues and %HESITATION therefore this could impact the stocks and not way and it's something that we will be following very closely and in the months ahead , united also said it would rebook flights for affected passengers without charge
