nnnnn its military is struggling to contain sinai province , the country's most lethal islamist militant group classes allied to islamic state , but local tribes in northern sinai can start to make a difference , northern sinai has been at the center of an insurgency , that has killed hundreds of soldiers and police since the army ousted former presidents how much more c. after mass protests against his rule , the insurgents even managed just over two weeks ago to launch coordinated attacks on several military checkpoints in northern sinai , that prompted the fiercest fighting on the peninsula since the nineteen seventy three war , the country has a large of the conventional army which is not used to the militants guerilla warfare tactics that's its uses in northern sinai like roadside bombs and carpal , recently the insurgents have also targeted judges and even the country's tourism industry hasn't been spared many northern tribal leaders who in the past and stayed away out of the fights between the militants and the army , have now recently said that they would join forces with the army and its battle against the insurgents , there was an attack in mid april against a bedouin woman in which the sinai province militants kidnapped and killed her because they said she cooperated with the army , for many tribal leaders thought was when they said they'd had enough , most of their support is concentrated on identifying the medicines as well as providing logistical and intelligence support it's still unclear whether the joining of the tribal fighters with the army is going to give the military and as , but it's clear that the army needs all the help it can get
