COMING UP:Share Opener Variant 1

>> It's the most serious showdown yet between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump. In the wake of the suspected gas attack last weekend in Syria, Trump lashed out at Moscow Wednesday, after it threatened to stop any retaliatory strike against Syria. Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria, Trump said in a tweet.
Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and smart! The bellicose language between the two nuclear armed nations has jingled nerves around the globe in the days following the deadly attack in Duma, Syria that killed 60. Yara Bayoumy is on the story.>> The US and Russia now seem to be on a potential collision course.
Tension is really rising between them as both sides really seem to be threatening and goading each other but nothing suggests so far that either sides is working to calm tensions.>> In a follow up tweet Trump said, quote, our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been.
And that includes the Cold War. A Kremlin spokesman said on Wednesday, quote, we do not participate in Twitter diplomacy, while the defense ministry said on his Facebook page, quote, smart missiles should fly towards terrorist, not towards the lawful government. In Washington Wednesday Defense Secretary James Mattis dodged questions about whether a US strike is imminent.
>> We stand ready to provide military option if they're appropriate as the President determined. But thank you very much.
