>> The death toll in Indonesia continues to rise after dozens drunk tainted bootleg liquor. Police confirmed, on Wednesday, 82 people have died and many more have been hospitalized in the capital, Jakarta, and a neighboring province.>>

>> Laboratory show nearly pure alcohol had been mixed with herbal drinks and energy drinks with high caffeine. Mosquito repellent, another ingredient believed to be part of the toxic concoction. Police say it was selling for as little as $1.45 a bag, and want to trace everywhere it was produced.

This, the police raid on one warehouse producing the drink. Authorities found bootleg alcohol filled bottles, and barrels full of it. At least 12 men have been detained on suspicion of making and selling the liquor. This isn't new for Indonesia, where illegal alcohol is frequently the cause of deaths.

The Muslim majority country imposes high tax rates on alcohol, leading some to opt for cheap home brews. The latest case is among the highest death tolls in recent years.
