Officials say Officer Blane Salimoni was dismissed for violating department standards on use of force and for losing his temper. While Officer Howie Lake was suspended for three days for violating the command of temper standards.>> Put your

That's what I hope. I hope that we can begin a healing and we can have conversations. We are moving forward as a police department to make sure that our police officers are getting the proper training and that incidents such as this won't happen again.>> Sterling was shot outside a convenient store after a resident reported he had been threatened by a black man selling CDs.
Police said Sterling was trying to pull a loaded gun out of his pocket when Salamoni opened fire. The police department's decisions come after the state's Attorney General announced that Lake and Salamoni would not be charged in the shooting since evidence showed their actions were justified.
