Quite a large apartment, the apartment was virtually entirely on fire. This is a very difficult fire, as you can imagine, the apartment is quite large. The rest of the building had considerable amount of smoke.>> The blaze broke out in the apartment of 67 year old Todd Brassner.
He was found unresponsive, and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. One resident got word of the blaze from a high profile Trump associate.>> There was noise and there was a funny smell. And then, Michael Cohen, who is Trump's lawyer, texted me, and he said, are you in the building?
And I said, I texted him back yes. And he said you should get out, there's a fire.>> The building, with its ground floor shops and restaurants, is also a major tourist hub.>> All of a sudden as we were going up the escalator, there was this massive noise.
And then, all of a sudden, my son said, look up. And there was all this fire, and smoke bellowing out from the window.>> US President, Donald Trump, who has an office, and private residence inside Trump Tower, was not in the building at the time. Nor, was any member of the Trump family.
After the fire was extinguished, Trump tweeted, very confined, well built building. Firemen and women did a great job, thank you!
