>> The fight is on. Undefeated champ Lloyd Mayweather is coming out of retirement to take on mixed martial artist Connor McGregor in a cross over fight in Las Vegas on August 26th. The fight confirmed Wednesday is expected to gross millions of dollars with Mayweather a solid favorite. The 40-year old retired in 2015 with an unblemished 49-0 professional boxing record while the boastful 28-year old Irishman McGregor is the UFC's lightweight champion.
The two fighters had gone back and forth for nearly a year on a show down each demanding a $100 million for the fight though neither side has disclosed the final feat. Mayweather is widely regarded as one of the best defensive fighters ever. McGregor is also quick on his feet and known for his devastating striking and highlight real knockouts.
A win for Mayweather would move him ahead of former heavyweight great, Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a perfect 49-0 career record.
