If there's a night for George Clooney to swig tequila, Wednesday is it. The actor's selling his premium tequila brand Casamigos for a whopping $1 billion to British spirits company Diageo. Casamigos, founded four years ago and loosely translated as House of Friends is co-owned by Clooney pal Randy Gerber, otherwise known as Cindy Crawford's husband and real estate developer Michael Meldman.
Clooney sounding as shocked as anyone at the price. Telling news outlet Deadline quote, if you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don't think we would have said yes. And confirming he'll remain with the company quote, starting with a shot tonight, maybe two.
Clooney's mega deal with Diageo, which already owns Johnnie Walker, Bulleit Bourbon, Ketel One Vodka, and Don Julio Tequila comes the same month the 56 years old became a father for the first time. With wife Amal recently giving birth to twins.
