>> As you are well aware.>> Controversial Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a staunch critic of the Black Lives Matter movement and early supporter of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, has withdrawn his acceptance for a job as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Clarke now saying his skills can be better used to promote Trump's agenda in a more aggressive role.
The outspoken sheriff meeting with Trump last week to discuss what exactly that might be. Clarke has come over fire in past for labeling members of the Black Lives Matter movement as, quote, subhuman creeps. And for his management of the Milwaukee County Jail where a mentally ill man died last year of dehydration.
The Washington Post reporting that significant delays to his appointment to the DHS contributed to his withdrawal. He was expected to start at the end of June.
