>> As the UK's capital recovers from the London Bridge attack, which shook the country last week. Police have revealed the incident could have been much more serious. The 3 Islamists who killed 8 people and injured 50 others last Saturday in a nightlife area by plowing into them with a van.
And then attacking them with knives had tried to hire a 7.5 ton truck. But their failure to provide payment details meant the vehicle wasn't picked up. Police are appealing for more witnesses to come forward and want to know more about the knives that were used.>> Each of those attackers was in possession of a knife.
And that knife is described as a pink ceramic knife about 12 inches in length, it had been adapted so the handle had leather strapping on it. And we know from the witnesses at the scene that the attackers actually had those knives strapped to their wrists. And that knife was being used to attack people in the streets.
>> In addition to the knives, police also recovered a number of wine bottles believed to be filled with flammable liquid and two blow torches, which could have been used as petrol bombs. The current threat level across the country is at the moment severe, meaning an attack is highly likely.
