>> A cease fire declared in the civil war torn country of Syria Saturday. The Syrian Army laying down its weapons for 48 hours in the southern city of Dura to support quote reconciliation efforts, according to a statement carried by state run media. The American State Department welcoming the respite, urging the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and rebel forces to honor the cease fire, a brief laying down of arms, coming as mediators try to put together another round of talks to finally try and bring this conflict to an end.
Both the United Nations and Russia announcing plans Saturday for separate negotiations to start up in July.
