>> Comedian Kathy Griffin fired by CNN on Wednesday following an uproar after she posted to Twitter images of herself holding a replica of a bloody, severed head of US President Donald Trump. The network announcing it terminated her agreement to co-host the channel's popular New Year's Eve broadcast. Her social media posts Tuesday quickly condemned far and wide.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, for years her co-host in Times Square, blasted Griffin, saying quote, it's clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate. Griffin posting an apology hours after the images appeared.>> I went too far. I made a mistake and I was wrong.>> President Trump reacting Wednesday saying, Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself.
My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick. Threatening the life of the President is a federal crime. The US Secret Service has opened an inquiry into the incident. We're aware of it and we're investigating it, a spokesman told Reuters.
A New Mexico casino said it had cancelled a planned appearance by Griffin in July.
