nd and NFL officials hosting a world sports conference in London Saturday all to help tackle one of its most controversial and threatening issues , concussions , Australian rules football they're all getting together in hopes of sharing their different approaches they're different diagnoses they're different treatments , so they can learn from each other and probably you know how they treat these issues , the issue of concussions and their long term impact on athlete has come under increased scrutiny in real , all of green linebacker junior Seau was examined for brain damage after he committed suicide in twenty twelve , and the vast majority of the dozens of players who donated their brains to research , the NFL says player safety is a priority and had enacted thirty nine new rules to lessen the risks , with some worry that this weekend's conference is just a marketing move , scheduled ahead of the December release of a high profile Hollywood movie , making football to brain disease , concussions are manageable short term issues , in April the NFL settled a lawsuit brought by about five thousand former players who accused it of covering up the dangers of concussions , still the controversy hasn't noticeably impacted the league's popularity , with more than twelve billion dollars in revenue the NFL remains the most powerful sports league in the U. S.
