>> A male teenager has been arrested following five acid attacks in Northeast London. They were carried out late on Thursday night within 90 minutes and involved corrosive substances being thrown into people's faces. Footage from one of the scenes in the Borough of Hackney showed a stationary moped by a police cordon.
The attacks begun at 10:25 PM, local time. Two men riding a moped threw acid at another 32 year old man riding a scooter, before stealing his vehicle and driving off. Similar attacks were then reported in four other areas near by. The victims were taken to the hospital with one of them facing life changing injuries.
Detectives are treating the incidence as linked. Police say the teenager is being held at the police station on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery.
