wildfire raging near homes in the San Clemente, California area overnight. Orange County fire officials on Thursday saying, the fast moving blaze has burned up to over 300 acres. And that firefighters have been battling the out of control fires move west, where many homes are located.
Another brush fire burning in the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank threatening dozens of expensive hillside homes. Firefighters attacking the flames from the ground and the air. Mandatory evacuations were ordered. Meanwhile, in Central Arizona, hot dry weather forecasted for Thursday potentially stoking a fast growing wildfire, that firefighters are struggling to contain.
Several homes destroyed in the fire's wake. Residents from at least a dozen communities have been evacuated. Fires in Utah and Colorado also sparking the evacuation of thousands of residents extremely high record breaking temperatures and strong wind gust hitting the western United States in May and June, which authorities say is a major factor behind the fires.
