]>> Donald Trumps on-again, off-again state visit to the UK could be back in the diary. Theresa May and Trump talking at the G20 last week. It was rumored then that the US President would make an unannounced trip to the UK after the summit. But a full state visit will now take place next year.

That's according to Sky News, quoting senior government sources. When May first met Trump in Washington in January, the two leaders hailed the beginning of their new relationship and the promise of a trade partnership, post-Brexit votes. Trump had accepted the Queen's invitation for him to travel to Britain later this year.

But protesters rallied on the streets of London against his visit, and nearly 2 million people signed one of a number of petitions. Trump reportedly said he did not want to visit UK when there were so many protests against him. Postponing the visit takes the heat off May. His authority was weakened after an ill judge election gamble, so her lose her parliamentary majority.

But if Trump is desperate for UK trip, he can still drop in on one of his golf courses in Scotland on an unofficial visit. That would be without the bells and whistles. But knowing Trump, not without the controversy.
