>> This was the scene at the stroke of midnight Saturday as hundreds of Nevadans stood in line for the state's first legal marijuana sales. Pot dispensaries across the state are cash only and now open to adults 21 and older, who are permitted to buy up to one ounce of legal weed.
55% of Nevada voters approved a measure last November to legalize marijuana. The new regulations come with a 10% sales tax that is expected to bring in more than $60 million over the next two years. But don't think about lighting a joint on the Las Vegas Strip, consuming weed in public is still prohibited.
Legal marijuana sales already up and running in states like Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, with that state raking in over $1 billion in revenue last year. California, Maine, and Massachusetts are expected to begin legal marijuana sales next year.
