>> It's been in placed for three months. A laptop ban on flights from Turkey to the US. Now, Turkish media saying that's been lifted. The ban was imposed amid fears that bombs could be hidden in electronic devices. It meant anything larger than a mobile phone wasn't allowed in cabins on certain direct flights to the US.
Ten airports were affected in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. But on Sunday, the ban was lifted on flights from Abu Dhabi. And on Wednesday morning, Turkish Airlines dropped the restrictions on its early morning flight to New York. Other carriers like Saudi Arabian Airlines hope their ban will be lifted later this month.
But US authorities say, they're still unsure whether those companies have satisfied the new requirements.
