Authorities on Monday, investigating what caused this Amtrak derailment near Puget Sound in Washington state with 267 passengers onboard. Officials say, several people were injured. The first four trains going off the rail Sunday, close to this popular waterfront area about ten miles from Tacoma. Evacuated passengers saying the crash seemed to come out of nowhere.

>> Everything was going smoothly, then I noticed boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. I didn't know what to think, I just grabbed my baby.>> All of a sudden everything was jerking, stopping. And we thought we hit a boulder or something.>> I was dead in the center of the train, probably the seventh cart.

So, we didn't get the tip over part. But it was pretty intense when it jumped off. You don't expect that.>> The train normally runs between Vancouver, British Columbia and Eugene, Oregon. The accident forced the shutdown of train service for several hours on Sunday. Train traffic resumed at lower speeds in the evening.
