>> I would urge you->> Republican Congressman Steve Scalise back in the intensive care unit after being shot and wounded during baseball practice last month. Hospital officials announcing Wednesday, the lawmaker's condition had been downgraded from fair to serious after the infection forced him to be readmitted. Doctors saying Scalise, the GOP's House Majority Whip, had previously been on the mend after a series of surgeries to repair internal organs and broken bones.
A gunman opened fire on Scalise and other Republican lawmakers as they practiced on June 14 in northern Virginia, for a Congressional charity baseball game. Scalise, from Louisiana, was shot in the hip. The gunman, James Hodgkinson, who had a history of posting angry messages against Republican President Donald Trump, died after being wounded by police at the ballpark.
