>> Baton Rouge police say an officer shot and killed a man after a brief struggle at an apartment complex on Monday evening. They say the officer had been escorting a state Children and Family Services caseworker to one of the apartments when the incident occurred. They deny a claim spread on social media that the man had been handcuffed before being shot.
A police spokesman says the officer suffered minor injuries in the struggle. Authorities are reviewing video from the officer's body camera to help determine exactly how the incident unfolded. The shooting has sparked protests, with local residents demanding a thorough investigation.
