I don't think there's any question that there are some policies that are coming out of Washington that are concerning to Virginians, and are perhaps detrimental to Virginians. But I think what this message was yesterday, that Virginia sent, not only to this country but, to this world, is that the divisiveness, the hatred, the bigotry, the politics that is tearing this country apart, that's not the United States of America that people love.
There are things like the travel ban, which I think is un-American. There are things like pulling away from the Paris Accord. As I said earlier, we have made so much progress with renewable energy. That's very important, should be very important to all of us, as Virginians. And, finally, healthcare.
Any plan that puts 30 million Americans at risk of losing their coverage is a non-starter. It's time to put some of the ideologies, put some of the divisiveness aside and bring people to the table.
