>> A suspected jihadist attack on a restaurant in Burkina Faso is over. Security forces shooting dead two attackers and freeing people trapped inside.

nshots had rung out near the Aziz Istanbul restaurant in the capital, Ouagadougou, late on Sunday in an incident the country's Communication Minister labeled a terrorist attack.

Remi Dandjinou told a news conference at least 18 people were killed and several more wounded. Customers were seen running out of the restaurant as security forces arrived. Eye witnesses described the moment of the attack.>>

Some were telling us that they were robbed and thrown out. And then we saw the news, it's worst than we thought.>> Turkey's foreign minister has confirmed a Turkish national was among the victims, while French media is reporting one of its citizens was killed. Nobody has yet to claimed responsibility for carrying out the attack.

At Burkina Faso has been a target of similar incidents like this in the past. In January 2016, 30 people were killed when gunmen struck a restaurant in the capital. That attack, claimed by Al Qaeda, showing the growing reach of jihadists across the region.
