the u. s. military on wednesday admitting it accidentally sent deadly anthrax to private labs in nine states for more than a year the anthrax bacteria sent from utah and maryland was supposed to be killed by radiation before shipment , reuters has learned that the anthrax samples were sent to states including maryland texas new york and california as well as to a u. s. base in south korea lisa lambert is following the story for reuters this is looking like it's a pattern for the federal government just last year the c. d. c. had an incident in which a lot of sand what it thought were dead samples to another lab and dozens of c. d. c. employees were exposed to potential harm anthrax kills by spores entering the body through inhaling or wound in the skin there are no known infections in the latest mishap
