six baltimore police officers charged in the death of a man fatally injured in police custody are trying to get their trial moved out of the city the baltimore sun thursday quoting defense lawyers arguing their clients cannot get a fair trial there , defense attorneys filed an eighty five page document in baltimore city court this week asking for change of venue arguing a quote presumption of prejudice exists in the city the six cops were charged after twenty five year old freddie gray suffered a severe injury to a spinal cord following his april twelfth the rest , gray's death in the hospital a week later led to protests and rioting in baltimore prompting a curfew and the deployment of the national guard , the six officers face charges including second degree murder and assault
