looks like you , pretty friendly place three of the n. f. l. coming down hard monday on super bowl winning quarterback tom brady in the new england patriots for deflating footballs and a scandal known as deflate gate the future hall of famer will be suspended without pay for four games at the start of the regular season his team which is tied for the most visits to the superbowl fined one million dollars one of the largest ever and being forced to give up a first round draft pick in two thousand sixteen last week a long awaited report found brady more likely than not had general knowledge of the deflated balls used in the run up to the superbowl when his team defeated the indianapolis colts who made the original cheating allegation and it was more probable than not that staff members were responsible the four time super bowl winner and three time super bowl most valuable player has maintained ignorance the suspension which is seen as an f. l. commissioner roger goodell making good on his pledge to quote vigorously protect the integrity of the game , certainly tarnishes brady's clean cut image , new england's image and that of coach bill belichick less stellar the coach was fined half a million dollars in two thousand seven for videotaping opponent signals from the sidelines in a violation notice by gate and the team was find a quarter of a million dollars and lost a first round draft pick , one reason why the n. f. l. penalty this time around was likely harsher than predicted
