>> I've been so addressed when I've sat in that->> Reports have emerged of a White House official mocking Senator John McCain's brain cancer at a closed door meeting on Thursday. The Washington Post and The Hill newspaper quoted official Kelly Sadler saying that McCain's opposition to President Donald Trump's CIA nominee quote, doesn't matter, he's dying anyway.
Sadler's a special assistant in the White House Communications Office.>> Does she still have a job?>> I'm not gonna comment on an internal staff meeting.>> Why not just apologize to Senator McCain->> Again, I'm not gonna get into a back and forth because people wanna create issues of leaked staffing meetings.
>> The Senator's wife, Cindy McCain, shot back at Sadler on twitter saying, quote, may I remind you, my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren. John McCain was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer last year and has been receiving treatment at home in Arizona, and absent from the Senate for months.
On Wednesday, McCain urged his fellow Senators to vote against Gina Haspel for CIA Director. McCain was a prisoner of war in Vietnam and was tortured. He says Haspel failed in a Senate committee hearing this week to address his concerns about the CIA's harsh interrogation program for terror suspects after 9,11.
>> We got valuable information from debriefing of Al-Qaeda detainees. And I don't think it's noble whether interrogation techniques played a role in that.>> McCain has also been a frequent critic of Trump. In an upcoming memoir he accuses the president of failing to uphold American values.>> Russian attempt.
