lice are currently responding to what I can only describe as a horrific incident.>> An unusual case in rural Australia and what could be the country's worst mass shooting in decades. Police found seven people dead at a property in the wine growing Margaret River region on the southwestern tip of Australia.

Three adults and four children, all bodies had bullet wounds.>> The bodies of two adults were located outside. Five bodies were located inside a building on the rural property. Two firearms have been located at the scene. We're trying to locate other members of the family and friends.>> Local media say police are treating the incident as a murder suicide.

Gun crime has fallen sharply in Australia since 1996 when a mass shooting in Tasmania prompted strict gun controls. The government bought back and confiscated millions of firearms, and it's now much harder to buy new ones. While mass killings do still happen in Australia, this could prove to be the single biggest incident of gun-related death since that incident over 20 years ago.
