>> It started as a hostage situation, and ended with an explosion that jolted the normally quiet town of North Haven, Connecticut and injured nine police officers.>> Literally stuff on our kitchen tables were shaking. It was just unbelievable.>> Police say it all unfolded after a woman walked into the local police headquarters Wednesday afternoon, and claimed she had escaped after being kept prisoner by her husband for three days.

North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda was at the scene.>> He was containing her in the house, yes.>> How?>> In a very threatening fashion.>> A SWAT team went to the home and tried to convince the husband to give himself up. That's when a barn on the property they were searching blew up, sending 9 officers to the hospital.

They did not immediately locate the husband, but later announced they had found a body.>> They did find the remains of a person inside of the one of the structures. Currently unidentified. There's going to be a post mortem examination.>> Police expect all of the injured officers to make a full recovery.
