]>> Go ahead.>> An off duty cop springing to action in Florida, after being handed an unresponsive baby on the side of the road. K9 Deputy Jeremy Nix was on his way home from work this week in Ocala, Florida, when a frantic woman flagged him down in his police car.
>> She just hands him to me and the first words out of her mouth were, don't let my baby die.>> The entire ordeal caught on dash cam video. First, Nix tried to revive the baby, but quickly realized the child, named Kingston, needed urgent medical care.>> When I realized I wasn't gonna be able to wait for an ambulance, I just held him as tight as I could, ran to my car.
Jumped in the car, told dispatch I can't wait on an ambulance, I got to go.>> I'm not waiting on medics, I'm a half a mile to the ONRC, I'm headed to the emergency room with the baby.>> Doctors treated Kingston immediately and successfully revived the infants.>> The doctor there said that the baby was lucky to be at there hospital.
That if it would not have played out the way it did, the baby would have not made it. My 17 years of doing this job that was the most scary, emotional, and rewarding day ever.
