>> U.S President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced he would pull the U.S out of the Iran Nuclear agreement.>> It is clear to me that we cannot prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb. Under the decaying and rotten structure of the current agreement.>> The move threatens to unravel the signature foreign policy achievement of President Barack Obama, a deal that took years to hammer out.
The 2015 agreement brought Iran, the U.S., and five world powers together in an accord that lifted sanctions onto Iran in exchange for limits on Iran's nuclear program.>> This deal does remind us that when the international community stands as one, we can advance our common security.>> In a statement Tuesday, President Obama called Trump's decision misguided and a serious mistake.
Trump has long lambasted the agreement, calling it one of the worst deals ever signed. The deal does nothing to constrain Iran's destabilizing activities including its support for terrorism.>> Trump on Tuesday signed an order reimposing harsh U.S. sanctions on Teheran that had been lifted as part of the nuclear deal.
In a press briefing after the announcement, National Security Advisor, John Bolton said, the move sends a clear signal, the President will not accept inadequate deals. Reuters White House correspondent, Jeff Mason.>> I can't emphasize enough the fact that President Trump just didn't like this deal, period. And was looking for reasons to get out, and Ambassador Bolton said today that Iran had not been in compliance with aspects of the deal.
Others will disagree with that, but that's something that they have sited here at the White House, as well, as a reason to get out.>> Shortly after Trump spoke, Iranian State television said, the decision to withdraw the United States from the deal was quote, illegal, illegitimate, and undermines international agreements.
U.S. allies such as France immediately expressed their disappointment with the choice. The European Union's top diplomat Federica Mogherini called on the international community to stick with the Iran nuclear deal, pointing out that Iran had complied with its obligations.>> The nuclear deal with Iran is crucial for the security of the region, of Europe, and of the entire world.
>> Some security experts warn that if the deal falls apart, inspectors could lose access to Iran's nuclear sites.
