>> US officials confirmed at least two people are dead after a military plane crashed near Savannah, Georgia on Wednesday. And the death toll is likely to rise. Five personnel were on board to the Puerto Rico International Guard Hercules aircraft when it went down on a training flight shortly before noon eastern time.
The plane was a weather reconnaissance version of the C130, a cargo carrier long used by the US military. The aircraft is used to penetrate storms and hurricanes to gather data. A spokesperson for the Air National Guard said the names of the deceased would be released after next of kin are notified.
