It appears to be the first official acknowledgement of the $130,000 Cohen paid to keep an adult film star quiet about an alleged affair with Trump.
Reuters political correspondent, Ginger Gibson.>> Donald Trump disclosed that this was a repayment to Cohen. But insisted that he wasn't required to disclose and that was doing so out of the interest of transparency. The office of government ethics doesn't appear to agree with him, we may released his filings.
They also released a letter written to Rod Rosenstein in Department of Justice, saying based on what they've seen. They believed Donald Trump should have disclosed those payments and repayments in the filings he submitted last year.>> That payments how it was made, why it was paid and what Trump knew about it has put a magnifying glass on Trump's sexual past.
His potential effort to conceal it and whether he violated campaign finance laws.>> Do you have any comments? Cohen said he paid Stormy Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement in the final stretch of the presidential race. Trump denies the affair and earlier this year told reporters on Air Force One, he had no knowledge of the payment.
