President Donald Trump's decision to move the embassy from Tel Aviv reversed decades of US policy. Guatemala was one of only a handful of nations that backed him, partly because President Jimmy Morales relies on conservative Christian supporters who wanted the move. His country's ties with Israel go back to its creation 70 years ago.
