COMING UP:Share Opener Variant 3

>> Flags at the White House and Capitol Hill flew half-staff on Wednesday as the condolences poured in for former First Lady, Barbara Bush who died, Tuesday evening. She was 92 years old. Son, Governor Jed Bush honored her Wednesday during a college speech.>> Of course, I appreciate everybody's prayers and their condolences for the passing of my mom.
If she was here, she'd say, thank God you made it. Because she would have been very upset, if I stay home. That's not a Bush attribute. You commit to something, you're supposed to show up and do it and I still feel her looming presence behind me. I'm so blessed to be her son.
>> Bush died at her home in Texas after declining further medical care for her failing health. Married to President George H W Bush for 73 years, Barbara Bush went from First Lady of the United States in 1989 to mother of the President when her son, George W Bush took office in 2001.
Bush is one of only two women in US history to fill both roles and the only woman to see both her husband, and son inaugurated. Born Barbara Pierce in Manhattan and raised in Westchester County, New York, Barbara moved with her husband to Texas where they started a family.
She and George Bush Sr. raised six children as her husband rose from millionaire oil magnate to president of the United States. Affectionately called The Silver Fox and the enforcer by family, Bush championed universal literacy during her time as first lady.>> I honestly believe that if more people could read, write and comprehend, we would be that much closer to solving so many of the problems that plague our nation.
>> Many referred to her as an energetic yet principled person who spoke up for what she believed in, even criticizing candidates from her own party.>> I hate the fact that people think compromise is a dirty word, it is not a dirty word.>> Barbara Bush remained active in politics throughout her life, campaigning alongside her second son, former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush in his 2016 bid for the presidency.
Bush was a popular national figure known for her sometimes blunt talk and self-deprecating wit.>> I'm speaking of glamour. I want you all to look at me very carefully.>>
Designer clothes.>> She will be lay to rest on Saturday.
